Luke is a finalist in the 2018 Glover Prize to be held in March at Evandale. His entry “On Tasman Island, The haulage” was painted after a residency on the island in October 2017
Hadley’s Art Prize
Luke is a finalist in the inaugural Hadley’s Art Prize to be announced on the 14th July 2017 .
His work “A different History, Bruny Island, 1793” explores and depicts relations between indigenous Tasmanian aboriginals and visting French scientific voyages in the 1700 s . A respectful and convivial association in contrast to the subsequent British killing and displacement of the original Tasmanian population .
